Demand is currently high so it would be sensible to contact us quickly if you see a place you like. We are happy to do viewings in person or by whatsapp, with no obligation to take a room. If required, rooms can be booked without a viewing (based on photos and videos below). We ask some basic questions, check references and request a deposit.

 

If there isn't a room in the house which you like best, you could start in one and move to your preferred house when one becomes available, or you can request to move rooms/houses at a later date. We want to keep our good tenants!

 Our rooms are mostly double sized rooms for single occupancy but we offer some rooms to couples/twins for a small surcharge (generally £50-£60/mo)

​

Hollybank has a few bedrooms and 2 kitchens and a sitting room which are suitable for wheelchair users.

​​

We love animals and would welcome them to some of the houses if we felt they would be happy and would pose no problems for housemates etc. Other houses are pet-free.

Hollybank, Dumfries

Recently renovated and very peaceful ex-hotel with ensuite double rooms.   This property comes with a large private car park and bus stop by the drive.  It has 2 huge  kitchens and is on the hospital side of town and  within easy walking distance of the town centre.     Some of our rooms/ensuites are wheelchair accessible.

There are dining tables in each kitchen and in the dining/sitting room.
All the ensuites have shower, wash hand basin and toilet, most are large wet-rooms, a few have shower cubicles. 

           Washing machines and dryers are coin-operated in this house at  £3 to wash and £1 to dry. (big commercial machines - take large loads). Otherwise housebills are included in the rent.


Several of the tenants are NHS professionals and/or work shifts ,and they often eat at work, so the kitchens are uncrowded.

The rooms are beautiful ensuite double rooms, some with sofas etc. 

We welcome couples/twin occupancy for a surcharge of £40 - £60/mo We have recently had some rooms empty to upgrade and they are being booked up fast.

Immaculate modern rooms in a beautifully renovated building behind Hollybank House (in same car park)

This property comes with off-road parking and fully fitted kitchen. Only 5 bedrooms here in total (4 ensuite, 1 with private shower room/toilet down corridor) and the house is ideal for a person seeking complete peace - sitting room & laundry are in main building (although the main building is also very peaceful), with considerate housemates.

The house is in a pedestrian precinct and there is a free public car park very close by (Munches Street), and a taxi stand.

It's an easy walk to 2 supermarkets as well as having High Street shops on the doorstep. The railway station and bus stops are just a short walk away.

The wifi is BT business, so fast with the fibre taking priority over other providers and it has 4g back-up so should never go down. ​

Most of these rooms are huge!
Originally a rich merchant's family home, this lovely old refurbished listed building is very spacious with 4 storeys and big rooms, and has the advantage of being very close to town centre (just off bottom of High Street) but with a great view to river and parkland and having a private car park and small garden. The house has a big sitting room and 2 kitchens.  

It's just a few steps from the back door/car park to a bus shelter and Loreburn shopping centre at the foot of the High Street, and Marks and Spencers with their food shop and it's an easy walk to 2 supermarkets and the railway station.

As most rooms are very big and have sofas, tables etc, they are great for twin/couple occupation (we can add a single bed if required) for a small surcharge.

 Set on a quiet street just off the town centre. this house has a homely feel. The tenants are considerate and friendly young professionals.

The  kitchen has a french window to a private yard which is a real sun-trap - a lovely place to sit outside in summer. It has a shed for bicycles etc. It's a short walk to the town centre, 2 supermarkets and the railway station.

The most common remark made by people coming into the house for the first time is how warm and welcoming it feels.

Three rooms have full ensuites and the others have wash hand basins. The bathroom, shower room (each with a toilet) and separate toilet are shared by just 5 rooms so there are very few queues.

Easy access to A75 ring road and town centre is 5 mins drive/20 mins walk away. Bus stop close to door. 5 mins walk to Aldi supermarket.

The games rooms have a pool table, table football, small air hockey and a darts board - they, and the room with the gym equipment, are in a separate building so are a good place to chill for an evening, with a couple of guests, without disturbing other tenants.

The garden is great for barbecues etc and there is an extra (secluded) lawned area behind the store shed. It has a washing line and is great for private sun-bathing.

​​​

We are happy to offer a room to a couple for a surcharge of £50/month.

This is a very popular house, especially in spring/summer time  with its beautiful garden, and rooms usually go very quickly!
